have you ever gone through the dictionary and found words that r just.. ODD! its actually a very interesting book to read. look at this word: breadwinner. when i saw that word i thought its a person who one a bread making/eating competion or sumthing but actually it is a person who works to suport a family. isnt that interesting. hmmmmm. and have a look at the 'z' section of the dictionary. most of those words are wierd! zymotic. of fermentation.

So what your point? I mean you never "speak" properly! Please re-define what you want us to respond to!

Is Englishness even a word? No I don't read the dictionary that much. Never something that I would spend my time on.... Englishness isn't a word! And yes, there are some very interesting words, but I love the ones you can use in normal day-to-day life, and you sound all clever!! They're the greatest words!! I used to think it was funny that 'f*ck' was in there!! I was like 'There's a swear word in the dictionary mum! ' She just laughed at me usually ...

willing or not I do it..."read dictionary" I`m studying English for about 6-7 years and it`s necessary to check definate words ot phrases... there`s no way,I mean...
however,it`s not my "mother" language ( I`m not sure there is such an expression in English) and that`s why I can`t find anything strange in these words... moreover,I would study them just like all others and not even notice if there is something peculiar with them...

I've done that before. one time my dad had the dictionary and he was reading all of these weird definitions and me, my mom, my sister, and her boyfriend were just laughing forever because of all the crazy words in there.

I like to read the dictionary. That way, I can piss people off by saying big words that they can't understand. It's so much fun! ;D

Yea, that's true and it's funny when you do that b/c if the person doesn't know what you're saying it makes them look stupid.
